Castle

Castle

"I'm greatly impressed," the ambassador said, looking around. "I can honestly say I've never seen a castle this well run; it is as if the princess was born instead of wed into it." The Lord Chancellor grinned politely, gesturing for their tour to continue. Passing Her Highness' Royal Secretary, the two exchanged a knowing look, but the nearby attendants were confused. "Swap out "castle" for "cartel" and you have it in one," she explained. "Her Highness is brilliant, but has been made moreso by the circumstances of her birth - learning to work the system in order to survive it. Now, she will level the playing field and settle some scores. For most of the kingdom, it will usher in a long-awaited time of prosperity and stability (the end of fear and suffering) but, for others ... well ... " "For others?" one prodded. "For others, it will be payback," the Royal Secretary finished, moving off quickly (a smirk still in place). The attendants scurried along behind her, wanting to ask about the timing, but feeling certain that everything had been underway since Day One.
