Strike
The team who was writing Earth was threatening to go on strike for the umpteenth time; approximately half of them had Writer's Block and the other half, well ... some kind of substance use was suspected. They felt unappreciated and underwhelmed by studio support; they had been writing this crap practically forever and it felt pointless (even the cliffhangers were dry as dust). "It's been a hit for ages, though," the negotiator said, "and I can't imagine that any of you have something else lined up." It was always carrot and stick with Management (and mostly stick). "Some shows pack up at the top of their game," the team lead replied. "Some see the value in wrapping up while everyone is wanting more." There was silence in the room for a bit, and then the negotiator leaned forward. "Some do, yes, but ... Earth past that point a LONG, long time ago, right?”
