The art students nodded, some transfixed and amazed, but Phil was terrified. He had been carving pumpkins the night before and had decided to make them all ghastly - frightening and nightmarish. "I'm going to be late," he texted in a panic. Phil needed a minute to think; he really didn't want to go home to the horrors waiting on the porch with their eyes glowing in the darkness.
