Steak
To everyone's surprise, Nancy ordered steak; she blushed when they brought it. "I thought ...," started one (who then backed off respectfully). "Hey, aren't you ...," began another (and then thought the better of it). "Yes, I'm predominantly vegetarian," Nancy said, with a shy grin, "and this is a departure for me." She picked up her knife and fork and made several, almost surgical cuts in the blink of an eye - lifting a small piece to examine its color. "It's for everyone's safety," Nancy concluded, concentrating on her plate, letting the shock and fear wash over them and then fade. She did not explain further.
