Nature

Out in deep waters, the blue whales breached, flying out of the waves and crashing back in, joyful that no one was watching. In the shallows, the manatees lolled in the watery sun, safe from rudders at last. The greenway foxes played on the paths and the rabbits in shallow burrows slept easy and uninterrupted save for the endless opera of birds (heard at last over traffic and the roar of jet planes). But the spiders, well ... the spiders narrowed all eight of their eyes, suspicious of the hoots and barks and happy yowls, scheming at how to get into the houses because they missed the screaming.
