Avery entered the house quickly, greeting no one, and rushed to his room. Digging into his jacket pocket, he removed the hag stone and bent low to put it into the metal lockbox on the bookshelf nearest the floor. "Nope," he whispered, rushing to the bathroom to wash his hands, arms, and face. "Nope nope nope." After dinner, he texted Roni about the gaming group (times and dates and who's playing what for the dungeon crawl). "Hey," Roni typed (before they forgot), "did you that fairy stone? Hold it up to your eye and see the unseen?" Avery sat there for a few seconds, not knowing exactly what to say. "Did it work? LOL" came the nudge.
