Visions
As they spoke, Gerilynn could see visions in her mind. "Burns is just so FUN!" Alto gushed. "I could do with a bit of fun." An image of Burns arrived front and center in her imagination; rows and rows of teeth with glowing red eyes. "There's more to life than fun," she said gently. "True ... very true," Alto responded. "And for all things serious, we have Hepp! There isn't a person on the planet more stable or organized!" Gerilynn smiled, her mirth hiding the desire to scream as she saw Hepp flipped out, talking to people no one could see, and setting the carpet on fire. "I want BOTH for you," she said to Alto. "You deserve someone who's the perfect balance of fun and dependable." "You're the greatest," Alto sighed warmly. "Seriously, thank you for listening to my drivel and just ... being a friend. OH! But - last one - we need to talk about Shiree!" Gerilynn nodded and took a deep breath. There would be blood. Back at home, she made herself a cup of tea and called her sister. "Why don't you just tell them? Even if they don't believe you, at least you tried." "I come close sometimes," Gerilynn admitted, "but you just can't save everybody."
