In Memory of: Charlie Watts
"Well, that's all right, then," he said (upon his arrival). "I'll go with 'lovely as expected with a bit of relief'." Everyone laughed, and he was directed to head right in and make himself at home. He walked a bit, but got distracted by the chorus. "Bass needs a little reinforcement; the upper registers are crushing them," he whispered to himself and was surprised/not surprised to find that he'd instantly teleported to Someplace and was seated with his full kit. "All right then, boys," he whispered and broke a blast beat with an uptick edge crash cymbal at the entrance, fading to a ghost note and reverb. He gapped in the ruff with no ride, but kept it pretty linear until he fit the lowers into a better groove and the whole thing balanced out. The "hallelujah" was no "Sympathy for the Devil", but it was undeniably the best it'd ever been.
