Great
"What time do you think we should go out there?" Shelly asked. "Hmmm ... I think ... maybe 8pm or 9pm?" Maeve replied. "Not too late, but late enough." "I'll bring the A-frame and we can be covered with one side open in case it rains," Shelly continued. "That's perfect," responded Maeve, "and I'll bring the insulated blankets and snacks. We're on our own for thermos contents because, really, a gal's thermos is her own business." They laughed, excited. "I just have a really good feeling about this year," Shelly half-whispered. "I think we'll see it - The Great Pumpkin - rising up out of the pumpkin patch, the orange glow of its eyes looking kindly on all of the good-" "GAWD, I LOVE THAT SHOW!" Doug interrupted. "We watch it with our kids every year! Linus and The Great Pumpkin is totally my favorite - hands down!" He seemed oblivious to the fact that he'd just revealed himself to be an eavesdropper, and continued to gush about how The Pumpkin "won" over Charlie Brown's Bent Over Christmas Tree by a mile. When he'd gone, Shelly looked at Maeve and shook her head. "You wish you could tell them ... warn them that The Great Pumpkin is more like Krampus," she said in a low voice. "Yes, but where's the fun in that?" Maeve replied, grinning.
