In Memory of Richard Simmons

He couldn't help it; as the soul neared, Peter sucked in his gut. The soul smiled. "Don't do that," it said. "You're you and that's a beautiful thing; find me when you're on break and we'll walk it off." The gates opened, but the soul reached for Peter and gave him a big hug before it went in. "Desk jobs are nobody's friend," it said. "I'm here for you." "And we're here for YOU," Peter reminded it, deeply moved. "We always were - through the suffering, the striving, and the silence; you are an ever-loved creature." The soul's eyes misted over and it squeezed Peter's arm. "Don't change the subject," it laughed (self-consciously), waving as it walked in, adding a bit of energy (and arms) to the stride.
